These are their stories.

Update: was acquired by Apple in 2017.

Will Dawoodi, Co-Founder of, has a stellar team. Together, they built a phenomenal technology for deploying conversational apps. It allows users to:

  1. Automate conversations
  2. Analyze them for actionable insight
  3. Assist sales and support staff in communications

While brainstorming ways to showcase this innovative technology, the team decided that one of the best examples would be a data-heavy case. This led them to Intrinio, where they found a plethora of affordable and accessible financial data – an ecosystem free of roadblocks that encouraged them to go out and build something meaningful.

So What Exactly is is a developer platform that enables companies to easily create AI and natural language conversational apps and services. The technology is capable of processing entire dialogues – not just single messages.

What Happens When You Marry Financial Data With a Conversational App?

You can have a conversation about AAPL stock with Facebook Messenger. Seriously.

The prospect of financial data made for a great case study. Finance can be very confusing – even more so when mountains of data are thrown at you. The team was willing to bet that the whole thing could be substantially simplified by using a natural language processing interface.

“At the extreme, using a Bloomberg terminal requires proprietary commands and drilling through multiple nested menus to pull information. Through conversation, data is surfaced quicker, better decisions are made, and the entire process is less intimidating without any learning curve.”

The combination of Intrinio’s flexible API access and’s incredible conversational technology resulted in an awesome fintech chat feature. You can ask it about Apple’s stock price, Exxon’s revenues, or Facebook’s expenses. Get real time answers to your investing questions, right within the Facebook Messenger interface.

But how does Messenger know if we’re talking about Target the company, or target the verb? The good news is that technologies utilized at have the ability to understand context, which allows you to ask follow on questions and build prior queries. Through this process it’s easy to distinguish between the two.

Check out the Source Code on Github here. The team at encourages you to use it, modify it, deliver graphs, and make even more complex queries.

PS: you can leverage’s CTO-approved tools to go beyond the limits of chatbots and add conversational interfaces to your own APIs.

I think the team can identify with the Intrinio motto – We Can’t Wait to See What You Build.
